so even though the car sound incredible the back boxes were not made for the car.

mishar i do have some of that bandage and was planing on using it, however i thought id ask first.

well i will wrap it and see how i get on if not, out with the new in with the old wich sounds naff tbh but nothing i can do unless i order a proper system however its very unlikely ill find one as you guys mention people like audi and MTM work with noise cancellation, i doubt exhaust "puter-togetherers" would do this especially in the uk as ive found a lot of them just to be welded and made not tested etc.
There's your issue: They were tuned to avoid resonance issues on the A6, and now, on your A8, you have a resonance problem.

You can try wrapping them, which may be enough to make it livable.

Sorry, this is off topic, but I've just realized that MP4.2+6.0 updated his profile.

Congratulations! Nice car, best possible delivery! Enjoy the old continent. Autobahn especially. Although W12 would do the better job there.

Default Agreed....

Can't be 100% sure, but if not for same motor and perhaps same body, it's unlikely to be tuned correctly for resonance and the like. If it was from an A6 4.2 (petrol/gas) then maybe, but from any other motor I would think issues like OP is finding would be likely. Even if it were a 4.2 BTW, it would probably need to be from a similar generation of emissions set up--my 2000 C5 4.2 for example is old enough not to have the far forward cats/pre cats probably found by the C6 generation; things like this will also change the exhaust flows, sound and tuning.

Default Further OT; thanks...

If you wander thru this post and the further replies on the Q5 board, you'll find some content to the current journey. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...php?p=24467549 There are almost no serious posters on that board with the Hybrid, hence some of the details there. Some of the Euro delivery and Ingolstadt points still come through though. We are still on the more open Autobahnen being in Germany (Oberammergau just now), but will be entering the speed regulated phase in Switzerland and then Austria, and just as the break in period is wrapping up. But...up to Berlin and then west to Cologne later in trip.

I still mean to do a more general post on ED, but haven't gotten there yet. I do have some pictures from the museum, including of an NSU Ro80 and my first C1 (plus, the C3). Both now museum relics, though someone actually had a circa 1970 100LS parked out front of the museum that appeared to still be roadworthy. I'll see if Mister Bally is reading if I remember some car history. I know he had a C3, but someone had an Ro80 way back when too. Nice looking design!
