Extended warranty on a new '05, clearbra, simoniz- Thoughts?

I'm usually not one to purchase any additional dealer 'add ons' but given the complixity of the A8 I'm considering an extended warranty. The wife and I usually keep our cars for 6-7 years which is why I'm considering a 6 year 72K mile warranty ($1895 w/$100 deductible) through our dealer. The warranty is provided by a third party and I'm still doing research on the parent co. financial position. We just bought yesterday and haven't picked up the car yet so I have plenty of time to add the warranty (and I'm sure I can always buy one individually.)
Anyone else purchased the Simoniz treatment? ($399)
How about Clearbra/Stonegaurd/Autobahand, etc? The dealer is offerring protrection for the front hood/fender/side mirrors for $595.
Thanks and Merry Christmas

Of course if you factor in the deductible it's more expensive.
I'm thinking it's something along the lines of: If I feel there 50% chance I'll have to pay $4000 in repairs in year 5 and 6 it makes since to purchase the warranty. ($2K likely payout on repairs.)
If the risk is higher than 50% the case is stronger for the ext warranty. If I think the total cost is less than $4K or less than a 50% chance, I should skip the warranty.
I know I can simulate this to see risk factors/sensitivities. What I don't know is if my assumptions are correct (maint cost in years 5 and 6, risk of payout etc...) So I decided to take the qualitative approach and ping you guys/gals!
Thanks!

if the warranty were to expire. The systems are too intricate to take a chance. Its not the money that Im concerned with but the headache of Audi telling me "Mr. Green, your car is out of warranty and there is really nothing that we can do except replace the bad parts, charge you list price and send you on your way"! Make sure that the selling dealer would be responsible for the repairs through a third party warranty.

$4K on a German luxury car. I think I'd pass.. . by the time you need it, Paul W. will probably have owned more then one D3 and will have figured out the way around all major repairs. And by 40K miles you will have a good feel for reliability of the car and could dump it if necessary before 50K.
Clear Bra- that's a fair price. . . if keeping a car that long, I would do it. I went into major depression when my D3 received a rock to the hood.
Strongly recommend you get a copy of AND read the warrenty contract before purchasing. Your also smart to check out the carrier; these type of insurance companies have a history of living short lifes. Good Luck.
