Lift mode will raise it up 25mm if needed for clearance. Ride height is a personal preference and down to use, where you live, style etc. The main thing I have established thanks to your kind help is the links I have fitted are infact OEM (is they the same on all D3s??) and as the seller is sending me a kinked set for free I may as well use them. When funds allow I can get VCDS and adjust further from there.

Will the computer throw a wobbly if I have slight rake ie front a little lower? Its obviously designed to level the car.

Links come as a part of self-level sensor and they are same for all A8/S8 except armoured vehicles.

You can adjust as much rake as you want either with links or software. No problem with computer since it doesn't have other way to "know" level.

I agree about ride height. I drive lowered car for 40+ years, but at one point it becomes too low. If you can't use carjack or pass speed bump it might be there.

Lift mode won't stick above some speed (can't remember exactly).

Ok so all A8/S8 have these kinked links - interesting!!

One of the main reasons I wanted to fit these links was not to go crazy low as I have M3 for that sort of thing, it was so that I could add rake or in the least make the car level. Currently it sits higher in front which does lead to slightly lighter steering, especially at speed. Not preferred driving style.

Yes, lift mode is limited to under 30mph I think it was or something similar. Rolling around as I currently am in Dynamic I can get in everywhere I need to. There's certainly nowhere I need to go that has steep access or humps to be taken at speed. The plan was to then lower by 25mm at 1st and check everywhere for clearance knowing I can still go to lift mode for extra clearance. I would then go another 25mm and check again. I can't see me needing to go any lower than 50mm and probably won't even get that low anyway.

Thanks for your input Mishar, much appreciated. Lets see what other fault posts I can start on here! lol
