Hi all,
does anyone know where the hood sensor is located on a 2008 A8?
I have a vague feeling that my alarm beep is not working because the hood sensor may be defective and the alarm "thinks" the hood is not closed.
Thank in advance.

The hood sensor is in the hood locks just By the driving lights.
You can check if the hood sensor is working from your instrument panel. If the sensor is working, and you have the ignition on, and bonnet open, the instrument panel should show it is open. If it doesn't show anything with bonnet open, then the sensor is bad.
Same applies for all doors and trunk lid.
The alarm beep can be turned on or off By software, or then the beep siren could just be defective. Arm the locks from the remote, then rock the car from the outside, and it should alarm and blink. (AFAIK all A8 have a alarm movement sensor)

Hi!
Yes thah is right I have the same problem whenI close the bonnet and on LCD shows that is open.
the cause is a damadged microswitch. You have to change it or shortcut it. If you choose shortcut be carefull after the oil change you have to reset again
like opening the bonet otherwise the oil lavel will be not reset. Hope to help others in trouble.
