Might be a stuipd question... but I searched a bit and didn't see any direct answer.
I have a 2006 A8L and I'm not sure that the MMI has ever been updated. What screen shows the currently installed software version?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that 4140 is the most recent version?
Should I infer that I have version 1190 and that the latest version would be displayed as 41.4?
I have ordered the new Navteq v.9 2008 map DVD and I'm wondering if it will even work if my MMI software is so old....?

Yes, have to hit "accept" every dang time. So if I have 11.9, what's the upgrade sequence to get to 41.4.0?
I just had the car in for service and asked the dealer to update the MMI to the latest version. The answer I got, "We checked and you have the latest MMI version". Grrrrr.

I think thrilla has shown the proper sequence, although the update to 41.4 is only worth it if you have the Audi Music Interface. It shows more song information in that case. Otherwise 33.6 is fine to get rid of the "accept" screen.
See the TSB's for reference of how to get the update. They should just do it, but apparently you have to find an excuse.
I had to provide my dealer with the part number and then they managed to find the newer version.

Fixed various menu problems, wandering stations, and got rid of the accept/"lawyer" screen. Linked into my autosig is the C6 board post that has the TSB's that describe the update, the typical symptom being "I lost my surround sound setting overnight."
At 2004, Bryan is likely off warranty anyway for the dealer to do it free, but it also gives the part number for the CD and tells the dealer what to do. The 4140 TSB does of course too, including noting you ABSOLUTELY have to do 3360 first. Some dealers apparently don't really want to do these updates, either because they don't realy know the car well, or prior nightmare stories. With MMI in the C6 (A6) and Q7 though, presumably they are now more familiar with it.
