I haven't seen anything where Audi breaks this out from other A8/D3 models. You might find something in a story if you search long enough. They did announce worldwide production of the S8 and W12 ceased in April 2009.
Similarly in 2007 I don't remember any official information, though if you search the board you might find some references. From experience buying my W12 CPO in early 2007, it seemed as though Audi made a lot of S8's. At the end of the 2007 calendar year, a lot of Northern CA dealers had them on their lots (visible when you searched inventory like in December), suggesting they had overestimated demand. Other board posters scattered around the country reported that at the time; I remember contributing to the post if you search archives. Audi was also really slow to get out the mid life freshening in 2008 for reasons not very clear. I've seen the pattern before before w/ Audi where at first a car seems hot w/ the Audi diehards (like on this board) buying them, but then they work through those relatively few customers and don't find a lot more. Economy wasn't really obviously soft yet at that time either, so it seemed more like a demand mis-estimation question.
Net, I think there are a lot more 2007's than 2009's. Also follows Audi's pattern of decreasing sales after model launch. Probably more 2008's than 2009's too, given stronger early 08 economy and that the D3 had the typical Audi 2/3 of way through model life freshening in 08 once they finally released it. 2009 may be a very rare bird, and there may be no more V10's other than the R8 in Audi's future after the S6 runs down. That's my guess on the W12 too.

I recall that 747 2007 S 8's were sold in the US in that model year per a post on this site in 2008. I remembered the number due to the airliner by that number. I would imagine that the number is lower for 2008's and even lower for 2009's but don't know where to find that out. McBucky

I emailed Audi and they came back with the following figures:
2007 - 1144 Units imported
2008 - 396 Units imported
2009 - 209 Units imported
So...if you have a 2008 or 2009 S8, it's a fairly rare bird.

I have an immaculate S8 with the 5.2 V10

Nice find.
I just picked up a very nice 07 S6 myself, 84K miles Audi USA tells me there were just over 800 imported into the us.
