Default I don't have ventilated seats on my A8 but

a good friend just got his A8L with the option and it does not appear they ventilate. We can not see where there is any air movement at all. When you go from 1 to 6 nothing appears to be happening.

He took it to the dealer and they say it is working properly yet they could not feel anything either.

Does anyone know what he is to expect?

Default Tell him welcome to the club

It's a very common complaint. If he sets it to 6 and puts a tissue on the seat he can probably detect a little air movement--but just barely.

The engineers who decided to provide six fan speed settings must be chuckling at their cruel joke!

Default Ventilated seats

Having never had a car with this feature in the past, I was not sure what to expect. Depending on what I am wearing, sometimes I can feel the sensation of cool air on my legs, it is very light but it seems to keep me from getting hot spots on the seat. It is much more subtle than I expected.

Default We'll try that tomorrow. I had a Saab

9.5 with vented seats and they would freeze your rear end of in 2/3 minutes. That is what he thought he would be getting.

Default I kinda like the "gentle" cooling...

Get into the car on a hot day and you really feel the subtle cooling; not through massive airflow, but by a seat that remains relatively cool. Turn the ventilation off and the seat quickly becomes warm. I also like the look of the perforated seats and find them more comfortable than the non-perforated ones.

My wife's Saab 9.5 can levitate you with the amount of air it moves.

Default Re: I don't have ventilated seats on my A8 but

I too have the ventilated seats and they barely do anything. I rode in a friend's cadillac which had ventilated seats, and my butt was numb from frost within a couple of minutes! Quite a difference.

Default Tried the tissue paper this morning and nothing. Took

it back to the dealer and showed them that nothing happened. They agreed it didn't do anything and are keeping the car to "look into the problem".
