To a post a few days ago (linked below) that actually dealt with an early non-US D3:
Audi has out a TSB on coil packs: 28 07 07, dated Sept. 13, 2007. It covers many 2005 and 2006 motors (depends on VIN numbers), both the 4.2 and 6.0 (W12). Even reaches into 2007 for W12 and S4's. It actually covers most other Audi's in 2005 and 2006 too.
Says coil packs suffer from water ingress. Diagnosis is basic code throwing for misfiring cylinders, i.e. you could see it with VAG COM.
Solution is they replace ALL the coilpacks even if only some act up.
Affected VINs are:
2005: 4E 5N 007600 - 4E 5N 999999 w/ 4.2 or 6.0
2006: 4E 6N 000000 - 4E 6N 025500 w/ 4.2
2006: 4E 6N 000000 - 4E 6N 000000 - 4E 6N 999999 w/6.0
2007: 4E 7N 000000 - 4E 7N 001179 w 6.0
New and improved coil pack #'s are:
077 905 115Q or 077 905 115S for 4.2's
07C 905 115J for W12's.
TSB says simply if it has a misfire code and it doesn't have these part number coilpacks installed, they all get replaced.
For reference, my own experience is I lost 2 of these on my 2000 C5 (A6) 4.2 relatively early, and I have a spare just in case though no further issues. No issues on my 6.0 (W12). Audi recalled boatloads of smaller Audis and VWs for coilpacks early in the millenium after some bad press and incidents.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8d3/msgs/49396.phtml">prior post on coil packs</a></li></ul>

or something similar. Only a relatively few TSB's in total are posted, and they are copy protected in various ways from Bentley as well.
