First gear will be the major and important difference as you say. I expect it will hurt fuel economy since basic revs per mile are 7 percent higher, and at 14:1 mixture the engine is all really a giant air and fuel pump. More revs per mile = more fuel per mile. Since car is ultimately power bound rather than RPM limited up near its ungoverned top end (seemingly around 285 kph/175mph otherwise stock) from the few videos around, presumably it can still be fine with effectively more aggressive gearing even at the ultimate deep autobahn theoretical speeds. Nevermind the fuel pumps are literally pumping deep into the teens of gallons per hour...it is built for that scenario.
Since he has the RS6 brakes--very nice Brembo's underneath!--his 19's are probably his lower wheel limit. 18's if it were stock W12 or S8 brakes, 17's on the 4.2, all assuming good spoke and barrel designs that clear the brakes.

Yes, but a bit more complicated. Same speed requires same power. That power produced at higher RPM means more explosions at lower pressure. That lower pressure causes lower efficiency.
I believe it would be faster with more aggressive gearing. As is resistance power curve cuts engine power curve below its maximum. All in the 5th gear. For max speed in the 6th 1200 HP would be required.

The good news is that I have managed to track down the owner of the car who did actually carry out the work and am trying to get more info from him.
Here is the car in action:

Hi there guys,
I just wanted to introduce myself as I expect I am going to be spending a decent amount of time on this forum following my new purchase.
I have moved out of D2 ownership and into the realms of a 2006 520bhp W12 with RS brakes and a 12-into-1 stainless exhaust system. I have no idea compelled me to make this purchase but I've got a feeling it's going to one hell of journey!![EEK!](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I've made a decision to write a blog about the ownership of such a car which can be found at http://mya8w12.blogspot.com/
I will also update this forum with everything that I find good, everything I find bad and any mods which I plan on making.
Looking forward to more communication over the coming years.
