I see the 4140 MMI overview of changes and instructions...
appeared again via a link on the C6 A6 board.
Helpful to give some context of what 4140 entails. As someone who did it, I don't think it is even noticable as far as benefis. But don't take the overview as gospel either. They are wrong about the lawyer disclaimer and the altitude display as examples, both of which appeared in 3360. They also fail to document that you have to unlug any ipod used for AMI before starting for reference. Search archives to get whole picture.
Warning: Do NOT do this yourself unless you really know what you are doing, are already at 3360 and have the necessary min rev. Nav disk. And, do not use a copy of the Audi disk, only an original. At least a few posters blew up their MMI outright, costing major $$ to fix. Search archives for more info and background. As much as anything, you may conclude that what 4140 really provides is still a bit of a mystery.

4140

Thanks for the warning
Just a few weeks ago I upgraded my Nav to version 5 and MMI to 3360. I was considering upgrading to 4140, just to have the latest and greatest, but your post has made me reconsider. 3360 added some nice functionality, and if 4140 is really no different than it isn't worth the risk.
