Default Ignition switch module replacement on 04 A8L Quattro

Did anyone have to replace their ignition switch module? If so, did you get the key with it? Or no key.
Please, elaborate if you got another switch with a key...Did you have to reprogram the key? How?

Lastly, if you didn't get a key with the switch...Please explain. How did you reprogram the key you had? Feedback asap. Thank you.

...it does not match the key electronically, cryptographically, OR mechanically and can be swapped without coding or key cutting.

I might ask why you are replacing it since it almost never goes bad? Perhaps the induction coil is bad?

Yes, this is the part I'm talking about. The mechanic working on my car is stating this is possibly the problem why my car isn't starting.

I asked because if I get another switch will my original key work or should I get a switch with key included. I was told by a worker from Audi parts the key I use may need to get reprogrammed.

Thanks, for replying back.

The Kessy module has been known to fail and so has the brake switch. Is your mechanic an Audi specialist?

Supposedly, he works on Audi's alot. I ordered a switch without a key, so hopefully the ignition switch is the reason.
