does anyone know what the AUX on the CD/AUX button for? I've seen some say just CD, others have a CD/TV. Does that mean there is an input somewhere?

The car I'm looking to buy is some 400 miles away in NY state, the owner of the dealer says the car is in good condition but of course they all say that. I suppose to be flying up there one day this week. I already told him if the car isn't what he say it is, I'm just going to fly right back. I can only do limited inspection on it but I'm just going to make sure everything works. It has 40k on it and has another 9 months left on the warranty.

Aux is for other sources. In US and Canada, that would be the AMI (Audi Music Interface), an ipod and other PMP connector. In Europe, I believe TV is available.

lgball is almost correct... the AUX is labeled differently in the EU (e.g., TV). When the AMI is installed, it maps to the CD button and it is an alternate source available in the CD menu.

No; came out in 07; has to be expensively retrofit into 06 and earlier

retrofit for AMI is about $1000 through dealer. You can DIY for about $600 if you can locate the parts on EBay, etc.
