Newest software has multiple meanings to me, so can you confirm that the MMI software is at least s/w level 33.60? Were all the software updates applied before or after the AMI install? I believe that AMI s/w updates won't be applied if you do the software upgrade before the AMI is installed.

Regarding VAG-COM coding, there is a parameter in the MMI that tells it how many devices to look for on the MOST ring, so you need to change this from 1 to 2 if you have both the CD and AMI installed.

Don't despair - you are getting closer to a solution!

I guess I was one of the lucky ones who just plugged mine in and slid it right next to the cd changer. It worked without having to mess with VAG-COM, which I was prepared to do.

Sounds like you need to get or borrow VAG-COM and change the settings as previously described by MP4.2+6.0. Last resort is just take it to the dealer and have them set it up. Good luck.

You need to upgrade the MMI to 33.6.0 (you're at 2740) or it will not work. The upgrade CD runs under $10.

Where are you located?
