instrument cluster keeps turning off while driving
I have recently experienced problems with my 2007 Audi A8L. The instrument cluster turning off while driving.
Anyone else experienced this before? Sorry if it's a double post but I couldn't find anything related to this in the search.
Haven't gotten my Vag-CoM yet due to the postal strike in Canada.

just wanted to elaborate more on my previous post:
The cluster will completely turn off, speedometer and tachometer drop to 0 along with all the other gauges. Headlights stay on and car runs as usual. MMI doesn't turn off and keeps functioning.
After a few seconds the cluster turns on again, time is reset to 0:00.
Lately it's been turning off once every minute of driving. Unplugging battery overnight to see if that helps

You may want to attempt to find out if the tech has taken one out before as it's easy to break the plastic vents and mark up the opening to the right and left of the cluster when removing it. best of luck!

no errors on mine. they don't flutter either just turn off/on as if nothing happened. Going to check with the vag-com for errors once i get it

Yes, run VAG-COM
and yes could be a loose connector or something. Not an issue posted about much on the board over the years. Hopefully VAG COM gives you a better sense of where the issue is.

I was wondering if anyone knew which module stores the date/time for the vehicle. I noticed the vehicle reboots/resets even when the car is parked overnight and when I go look at the time its either 0:15 or 0:10 which means it resets probably every fifteen minutes.
