I bought a new mechanism and so I can request a quotation for the plastic gears. Jrstokka has some on the eBay but it's too expensive to pay so much money for plastic gears.

As soon as I get a good offer from a german supplier, I will to sell them on ebay. My target is to sell them below 20 EUR.

In my opinion, all offers above 100 USD is exorbitant !!!

The guys who have got these gears will do only money! This is not in our interest !!!

Regards, Eddy

But I never could figure out the "key" to solve the puzzle.

So, I did the only thing I could see that would to get the gears out of the mechanism. I used a razor knife to slice off a little nub of plastic that acts as a stop for the arc shaped gear that needs to move past the stop in order to reveal the gears. When I re-assembled the mechanism I used a tiny screw to hold a bit of plastic in place to act as a stop.

If anyone has found another way I would still be interested to know how it was done, just out of curiousity.
No need to slice off the small plastic, I used a small screwdriver to make some space for it to pass (make some distance between both arcs). Sorry for my english, hope I was helpful

It is complicated but definitely no need for any cutting or forcing.

Newbie here. Is there a way to program the screen to stay open all the time?

Welcome!

No way to program it, but if the gear is broken you can pry it opened.
