does anyone know if you can get the blown bulb warning light and beep to stop using vag com?
I changed my day time running lights to led's and its driving me crazy, the car thinks the bulbs are blown.

No you can't! After seeing some work and some fail, I think Ultimately it comes down to Year of Model and Selection of Bulbs. I see that you have an '06, but if you bought your LEDs where I bought mine and they are the exact same LEDs then there is Truth to this statement. It may just be a case current insufficiency for certain Year/Models. Sorry and good luck! Laters,

You could buy the S8 headlights with LED DRL's. They are about 300$ on ebay (used). Sell your current headlights after to offset some of the cost.
I've got them on my 07 A8L. The only problems I had was the previous owner who swapped them told me the LED's have to be activated in vag-com so i spent tons of money trying to get them to work. In the end one of the boards was burnt (LED controller) that's why it didn't turn on.
It's plug and play otherwise, and if you changed bulbs on A8's then you probably know how to take the front-end of the vehicle off.

Never mind about taking the front end of. I forgot you can remove halogen bulbs without needing to take the front cover off. Have you checked out this thread called Halogen Parking Light to LED SWAP (pic intensive)

yeah I have done that mod already but I was hoping there was a way to do the same for the DRL but I guess not unless I do the swap like you said.
was it $300 per headlight you paid?

Yes it was 300 a pop. The previous owner of the car already replaced originals with S8 headlights but they were bad ones so last year i spent weeks trying to figure out why they wouldn't turn on. Ended up buying an other pair on Ebay and works ever since.
