A little story about my W12 (VW Phaeton).........

I owned two Audis in the past, am now the new owner of a W12 Phaeton. I saw an A8 with the W12 last summer in Helsinki. It had the big grill like on the new A6. Has this car made it to the US? If so, it would be a winner, particularly since it is lighter than the VW. However the cost might be a major hindrance. Are they really talking $120,000? My VW was sold with special incentives and probably cost less than most of you pay for an A8. True. I don't think hardly any are left at that price.
The only differences I know about are that the Audi engine is dry sump, whereas the VW is wet.
There may also well be 'sonic' differences. Mine sounds like a turbine. I imagine the Audi version may be a bit more sporty. The VW has two batteries, one on each side of the trunk. It has two radiators as well and a water cooled alternator.
All in all, a helluva car, IMO.

and from what I hear 95% of them are already sold.
Technically dealers are not allowed to order them unless they are sold orders, but you know how that goes.
Audi will have to problem selling the rest of them.
The A8 W12 comes standard with TV with DVD changer, 4 seat configuration with massaging and heated...
The car is freaking fast at 0-60 in only 5 sec.
Price starts at around $117,400.
There is even a personal fridge as an option.

The Volkswagen Phaeton W12 and the Audi A8L 6.0 might seem like twins that were separated at birth, but in reality, the two cars are very different. Sure, they share the same corporate twelve-cylinder engine. The specification sheets, however, show a striking 1000-pound weight advantage for the aluminum-spaceframe Audi over the steel-bodied Volkswagen. The Audi also has a wheelbase that's 2.9 inches longer and different front-suspension geometry. Although the intracorporate pipeline made the A8's superior chassis available to VW, management decided against it because the Phaeton project was already late and over budget
