MIL on for evap leak any ideas?
I am getting a P0455 large evap leak detected code along with a P2179 bank 2 system too lean off idle upper limit exceeded code. I have since replaced my gas cap with a brand new oem one and 3 days later code came back. The codes are not at the same time according to VCDS, looks like the P2179 hits on my way to work and the other one is on my way home. There is no drivability issues whatsoever. 2007 A8L 4.2L. Any ideas where to look next?

Determined that it was the purge valve that is located right next to the oil filter; it took about 5 minutes to swap out and was about $20. Part # 06E906517A. If anyone else has this issue and has cap does not fix it.

I am having the same issues.
For Mike 141 it is possible for him to have a Evap leak and a faulty Valve.
When you do the Readiness Test in VCDS, the first test is related to the valve just beside the air filter.
Test 1
The first test Evap test checks
The last of the series of Test is the one that checks for leaks. (Usually a faulty gas cap)
A leak is gas vapors may be a cause for a lean condition.
For Mike 141 it is possible for him to have a Evap leak and a faulty Valve.

- if Air flows through the valve
