Default Mileage in Metric Driving me crazy

My A8 has all the units set for english system -miles, gallons, degrees F everything EXCEPT the miles per gallon shows as L/100KM. Cannot find anything in MMI to change this. Tried reseeting MMI no help. Reset both trip meters too and no change. Wierd problem. Any help with this odd problem is really appreciated.

Default You might need vagcom to make this adjustment.....

Where are you at? If you are in SE PA I can help. If not search for the vag locator to find someone close to you. If not you can always buy your own and then you can adjust things how you see fit.

I bought the Ross-Tech mainly to eliminate the pesky "Service!" indicator.

I have a cheapo Ebay cable and software I have used in the past for my older A4 but I guess I don't know what coing is necessary on the A8. Seems like it may be on Canada setting or something. Just cannot find anywhere to change that one parameter. I'm in NW New Jersey.

hey if you are near andover, stop in and see my friend, dave, at the Lenape Lodge... a great human being, i call him ralph and those of his friends at the lenape lodge call him bozo, the reason is obvious but i have never agreed with public sentiment...anyway, you should meet him, as should every good american and thank him for, first of all, his dedication and service to his country (every one of us), in the vietnam conflict, and his 2 purple hearts and some other stuff, i don't remember which, and for which he never took a DIME from the VA or whoever, until just recently when the agent orange poisoning manifested itself in, among other things, diabetes, not to mention the continuing mental trauma still going strong 40 years later and counting...sorry, it hust occurred to me and people should know, and he is REALLY a funny guy, whatever, he deserves more...whew, got carried away there and thought about erasing it, but then i changed my mind, he would dig a thanks, or as rodney dangerfield said once in one of his great skits...onea deese, and the ok sign, thanks ralph

Thank You.

I found that the instrument coding (maybe by the last owner) is wrong and set on Canada. I need the whole instrument code as I think the number is wrong. Current code is 334 which looks wrong. I need the correct complete recode for:

Late 2005 A8 (not L)
4.2L
Auto 6 speed
MMI
Xenons
Bluetooth
Auto
United States
TPMS
18" Wheels
Quattro

Any help is appreciated.
