MMI update?

MMI update?
Need some help. I have an 07 and was wondering if I need to do an MMI upgrade to a newer version. Not sure which version I have now but will check later. What is the advantage of a newer version. I have the latest Nav disc that was just installed. Thank you in advance.

If everything is working fine you DON'T need to update. If your under warranty complain about one of the numerous TSB's and get it upgraded for free at the dealer. Only reason to upgrade is if you use bluetooth and your contacts won't sync or to get rid of lawyer screen. Besides that if I't works and you don't need the bluetooth upgrade don't bother.

Thank you. Mine is working fine. I just thought because I was in a 2010 Q7 loaner and the navigation allowed me to input the street by verbal command and even just spelling the street name with my voice only. That was a great feature for the navigation.

In the A8 you have some functionality of this as well. "navigate to" but your location I believe has to be stored in memory to recall it using voice navigation. Overall I rarely ever use the voice commands though unless I'm just showing anyone how cool it is 
, or if the driving is chaotic and I can't look at the screen or take my hand off the wheel. I mainly use the voice control to change songs. i.e. (Play Track _)

the voice control in the 2010 Q7 was very nice. I needed to find an address and just told it the street and then the house number and it was up and running. Was fast and very safe.
