Default Yes and Yes

I got the upcoming campaign letter as well as the recall letter. And, my dealer did the change out a few months ago at my last service. BUT, I'm a 6.0/W12 (they got recalled too), so I may well have different coils--motor is closer to a VR6 x 2 than a 4.2 or an Audi V6. Needless to say, 12 coils at $30 plus per just for the part would not have been cheap.

And yes, bad coil of course means misfire, which can shake. But in practice, if yours cleared up post pump change, would be hard to prove. Still, you could turn it in on the claimed prior repairs and see what happens.

Separately my 2000 A6 4.2 got the same advance recall letter, but it hasn't been called in yet.

I would update the mmi. If you follow proper directions there shouldn't be a problem.

Default Yep. Interesting timing.

Has anybody received a Service Action letter from Audi regarding the ignition coils? I can't renew my registration before such inspection/replacement. Could that have anything to do with my previous thread about rough idle/engine stall which led to replacement of both fuel pumps?

Thanks
My car started running rough last week after a meeting and the check engine light came on. I called the dealer right away and they replaced all the coils. I got home to find the letter from Audi in my mailbox letting me know they were in.

Hmm. I hate to think I wasted money on two new fuel pumps if it's all coil related. I had the pumps replaced by a VW dealer which is closer to me than the Audi dealer, but have an appt. with the Audi dealer in June for the coil recall.
