Thanks for the info, that's the best answer I've seen.
Oddly I have altitude in nav. I do recall your post about AMI requiring 3360 or something thereabout.
My iPhone 4 works great as a phone via bluetooth, so I guess there's really no reason for me to go any higher in levels.
Have looked at Dension and AMI retrofits but just can't justify the ROI on them.
Most of my driving is either on the phone or enjoying the few quiet moments in life.
And in 5 years when I get my 2012 A8, it'll have a lot more goodies.

How do u know if your A8 has bluetooth. I have an 06 and the mirror doesnt have an onstar button. my mmi version is 1190. If i update to 4*** will i have bluetooth capability or do i have to buy something to have bluetooth?
