It is time to change my 8 years old original battery. Which brand is the
Best?

Varta, from Germany is the OEM and best battery. The best American battery is a Deka. Made by East Penn Manufacturing Company in Lyon Station, Pennsylvania.

Why do you need the best battery? You are not driving Rolls Royce.

Never been on an RR forum but I can imagine how "best" they are looking for.

By the way, you need best battery with the worst engine. The one that has difficulties to start.

I still have an Interstate battery that I replaced about 6 years ago in my D2 and it's still going strong. It's going to be a little sad this weekend when I deliver the D2 to a new owner.

We sell Exide batteries at our locations so that will be the next battery I will use.
