Anyone have this info? Interested to know how, and in what format the A/V signals make it to the MMI screen and audio system.

So is the nav unit in the trunk anything more than just a DVD drive? Which unit is responsible for all the nav calcs, graphics and audio?
I'm just mulling over ideas as to how to get my phone screen shared onto the MMI screen AirPlay style.
Intercepting the Nav A/V signals seems like it might be a good way to do it as the nav audio remains active in the background at all times.

I believe that navigation unit in the trunk is doing all of it. I opened it and there is much more electronics than in a simple DVD player. Besides that I don't see any other module doing that.
Your idea is interesting. I believe some other guys had a similar one. It might be that my old Sirius Module is part of a project like that, but I haven't heard about progress. I believe you would have to add a new nod into the fiber optic link. Big woodoo for my mechanically inclined mind.

It works even better now I have the latest springboard rotator for Iphone 6
It requires jailbreaking the iphone and then installing an app called sbrotator8
with that installed you can lock the iphone in landscape mode so it fits the car screen better.
