So I've been having an intermittent problem with my MMI screen not popping up when I start my 04 A8L. This is has been happening over the last two years, but a different dealer could never diagnose it.
In for my 75k service (with the timing belt change), when the dealership calls to tell me that I have a bad navigation module and that it will cost $1275 to replace. I have a call into the Audi Advocate to see what they can do (even though the AudiUSA.com website says that it's not covered).
So what do you think my chances are of getting Audi to cover it???

Other than typical wear parts, the only obvious parts of the car that are NOT covered are the Nav and sound system components. It is right in the first exclusion statement of their CPO warranty booklet actually that I got when I bought mine CPO.
The tricky part is the statement that says in this exclusion about Nav and sound system--"Excludes MMI (TM) (Multi Media Interface) components not related to navigation and sound system." Trouble though is your diagnosis is the Nav control unit rather than something about the screen mechanism separately.
Sounds like you may need to just keep pushing the screen raise button as the no $$ solution.
