Default need VIN history report

I forgot if this is prohibited and if so sorry.

Looking at this car, guy lives right by Copart and has strange accent.

If anyone can PM me a carfax or the like I'd sure appreciate it!

Thanks,
Tom

Get the seller to pay for CarFax. It is his car and if he wants to sell it, he'll have CarFax for it. When I was selling my recently sold 2011 VW GTI, it came with CarProof which is the CarFax up here in Canada.

If the seller refuses to pay for CarFax, it probably means he or she does not want your business or the seller is trying to hide the car's history from buyers.

Yeah, I'll try but he's trying real hard to appear unmotivated. Plus he lives by Copart and has a strange accent. Red flagville, or I'm paranoid...

Or honestly, just buy your own copy of report if you have VIN. Way cheaper than first '"forgot" to tell you about it' prior issue.

Obviously. I wouldn't buy a car without some kind of title search despite the chance of something slipping by. but $25 is $25 and a PPI is, arguably, more important. In light of the weird experience w/seller at my mech, I am even more curious. that's another story. (which I'll tell in OT).

If it feels odd, then walk away.

Personally I would avoid the 2004 MY. Either go with 2006 if you want timing belts or go with 2007 or newer if you want timing chains and carbon cleanings.

Oh, it felt beyond odd. it was absurd.

Re belt vs chains, it's the lesser of two evils. Not sure there is one.

When I came back to the D3 forum and saw I had a reply from you, I thought ha, the guy (seller) IS on AW - his name is Richard, too!
However I shall call him Dick after his bizarre behavior yesterday. (links to the same OT thread in #1 post above).

Sage Green was only offered in 2004.
