I am the proud owner of a 2007 S8 with 40k miles. I was warned when I bought the car "it's very hard on tires (eg, bubbles/flats). While the car does have low profile tires (Pirelli Pzero), I've owned several Porsches with similar wheels and thought the salesman was making too big a deal of the issue (he was trying to sell me wheel & tire coverage).
Last Sunday I hit a small series of potholes on the highway while traveling approx 80 mph (impossible to avoid). The tire pressure warning light came on immediately. Instant flat tire.
I changed the tire and planned on replacing all four wheels. I was very surprised to learn the Pzeros are $450 each. That's considerably more than the tires on my Porsche.
Does anyone have a strong preference for high performance, low profile tires? Did a search but nothing interesting came up.

If you want to stick with a Z-rated summer tire, you can't do better than the Michelin Pilot Sport series.
If you want to go to a high performance all-season, I would do the Continental DWS.

You may be looking at 265/35-20, which was only on the S8. W12's and 4.2 with 20's used 275/35-20's--same wheel width and offset. More tire choices there, probably a fair # with better pricing.
Search on prior posts; Others and I have posted on a fair amount.

I have 4 wheels, TPMS sensors and 4 tires mounted up that will work on your S8, but are only 275 wide.
Tires are Pilot Sport AS. The all season version of the sport tires, and they work nice, and ride nice.
I sold my 2004 A8L that I had them on, and no longer need them.
The rims are 20x10 Tires are 275/33 20's.
500 and you pay shipping, and they are yours.

This is mounted up on my 2001 S8, but they look even better on the D3 body.
