I'm looking at buying an 05 A8 in this color, except the car is 4 hours away and I haven't been able to get away to see the car in person yet.
In the pictures, the paint seems a rather dull color - almost black. It was a cloudy day when the pics were taken.
Anybody have an opinion about this color who has seen it in person? Any pics of your car to share? Thanks!

I have always found that Audi's Pearlescent paint looks most stunning (three dimensional, or with depth) on overcast days.
This was the case with my '87 Pearl White 5000CS Quattro as well as my beige '04 A8L.
The pictures versus live viewing cannot be compared.
I can't say anything for the darker colors as I like lighter color cars.

That's the car I looked for for 8 months and finally found one with all the options I wanted. I like it alot. It's more unique and less common than other cars on the road. Most folks seem to have the std black or grey. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I wanted the blue color. Personally I didn't like the lighter blue (too feminine, or the darker blue) which actually looked more black at night than blue. Mine has the Platinum interior which compliments the blus color well.

I struggled (who cares) with color choice when I ordered my 08 A8L. It became a coin toss between the Night Blue and the Phantom Black. The Night Blue really looks black (IMHO), especially when standing alone. Both elegant colors for the luxury/limo image with the "less commonly seen" factor going to the Night Blue. If I could make the selection over, I think I would have selected the Night Blue.

I had to special order both the green and the cream/beige interior.
Months after I got the car (Dec '05)more than one person came up to me and said "Oh, your car isn't black!"
