in any setting that includes air out of the dash outlets I get nothing. I hear a servo motor trying to work sometimes but it sounds like the gears are stripped or the linkage is jammed. I am putting 2 and 2 together and
thinking the noise is the motor that controls distribution door to the center vents. Any one had this problem? And if it is the motor/door problem, whats involved to get access to that motor?

Awdinut,
After reading your post I realized I had the same problem. On occasion I can hear a clicking from the center dash, so wondering if there is a damper gear that's busted.
Maybe bumping this up someone else will have an answer.

hey nut do u have vag com? if so do basic settings in 08,that will set everyone to stock settings,or see if u have a fault in in the sys,

This issue does not show up with Vag Com.
