Woke up this morning and started my car. I can't get any sound through my speakers. I've reset the MMI three times. Is there anything else I should be checking?

Is the speaker icon has a slash through it like a mute? CP (component protection)?

On my D4, I had intermittent sound issues and it turned out the battery was on its way out. Easy to check.

Opened the door of my 05 this morning and before I could get in there was a loud static noise. Stopped in my tracks wondering what it was and where it came from. It did it again and I realized it was from the speakers. All this was car off, no key in car. Mmi appeared to be fully off. I started car and drove. No sound from any source -am FM xm cd..made a bluetooth call, no sound. Tried nav, no sound. Stopped the car, restarted, still no sound. Power cycled the mmi. Gave up and drove 30 minutes to work fretting. I was -10f, thought perhaps a harness got stiff and broke. Googled and read about mmi reset as a solution. Went back to car at lunch time. Fixed itself. What the ??

Mine continues to do it while below freezing temps. Comes back on after car is warmes up. I just replaced the battery today so we shall see if that fixes my issue
