We had these TPMS sensors installed yesterday in our A6 wagon and there's a very fundamental problem with the parts sent to us. I was fortunate that the shop doing the work was a full-service operation and had alternate valve stems that could be used.
I'm not real familiar with these sensor assemblies, but the units sent to us don't have the ability to alter the angle of the valve stem meaning the sensor itself was not laying against the wheel. Other sensors I have seen having some amount of adjustability, pivoting, so they'll mate up with different wheel designs. The valve stems sent to me were basically "square" (where they mount against the sensor) and lacked the ability to pivot in relation to the sensor. The replacement valve stems were $12 each.
The car hasn't been driven far since installation, but all seems OK, DIS warning lights off
