Default PCV Valve WTF :/

Someone please tell me what's going on here what's causing the pcv valve to go bad ?

I'm at my 3rd pcv valve in the last 30k miles

12/4/2016 New PCV valve installed (3rd all 3 are OEM)
02/06/2017 Oil changed 5/40 Castrol edge
(oil changes are done in the 6-7k miles range)
02/20/2017 New suction pump installed

Oil on the dipstick and cap looks clean..

Is the air hose from the airbox connected to the crankcase? Also not leaking due to clamp or damage?

Moisture gets in the crankcase air from condensing the cold air at startup. If you don't drive far and take short trips in winter that moisture will build up in your PCV system. Drive a while and let it get hot and burn off and it will not be there.

+1 on prior comment. Start up condensation and not getting warmed up enough to burn it off. Will improve with warmer months.

If you drive 10 miles each way the engine should warm up enough. Even in the winter.
The valve is easily cleaned. I replaced mine with a 30.00 cheapie. It started quacking. Cleaned the original and it is fine.

You're on your third one? Could be gettin expensive! FCP Euro has them for ~$30 IIRC.

There was a whole string of problems related to these freezing in colder climates. Parenthetically, one of my '04s has a rather cumbersome insulation kit around it and the tube to it that is silver with snaps. The other is naked.
