I recommend getting the water out manually. I don't think it is a good thing that it builds up. It is a design flaw in my opinion there should have been some mechanism to drain it out. Once it is built up there is a lot in the lower hose that comes out the bottom of the PCV and I don't know if that much water will dry out from a longer drive. Maybe 200 miles will do it, but I don't know. Take the valve off, clean it, then stick a towel around the lower hose and blast it with compressed air. I did that and got 90+% out. Then it will dry out good with longer drives.

There was a whole string of problems related to these freezing in colder climates. Parenthetically, one of my '04s has a rather cumbersome insulation kit around it and the tube to it that is silver with snaps. The other is naked.
