Default Question about an 07 or 08 S8....

I was playing around on youtube and came upon Miltek S8 exhaust videos....WOW.

It got me thinking...next summer I am going to be in the market for a new car...daily driver...in the 50-55k range likely.

I currently have the TT now...and love it...great fun little car but will likely change it up....

That said...after looking at this board and seeing 05 A8s go for low to mid 20s on dealer lots....what will a CPO S8 be next year really?

Figure the car is about 120ish new....and I am thinking that it for darn sure might be right in that 50-55 arena.

The car will be 3 years old at that point for an 07 and further, the D4 A8 will be right around the corner if not comming out as well...

Might be a great option....am I forgetting something or is that pretty accurate?

Default Re: Question about an 07 or 08 S8....

I'm in somewhat the same spot and I was showing those clips to my 4yo son last night - I absolutely LOVE the way the 08/09 S8 looks - especially in Daytona or Ibis... I hear Suzuka is great - but I think it would be very tough to find. Hands down, the most beautiful sedan out there imho... Without having worked with him yet - Bruce M seems to be the right guy for finding a good used Audi, as he attends the auctions which the dealers go to and inspects the car, charges a modest markup, and has a solid rep from what I can tell. Seems like everyone has had a good experience with him.

I would imagine that the next gen release will also affect pricing - so I'm trying to hold tight until then...

Default Know of one that will be available Dec 2010 - Phantom Black/Black

My Dad in FL has a leased 2007 S8 with many options, including B&O, double upgraded leather, automatic cruise, others. Sticker was 115k and residual is probably around 50-51k.

I am thinking the same - what will it be worth by then and can the buyout be LESS than the residual as some are seeing?

I might be interested in it by then as it will be driven lightly and detailed highly and could join my NSX in the stable.

If I do not take it, will definitely be glad to pass on details to a fellow member well in advance as it will be around 40k miles by Dec 2010 (lease allows for 45k but it is under for now). His 2005 4.2 A6 had a buyout of 32k in Dec 2007 and was sold at the auction for 25-26k as he received a statement from Audi as a finally summary of financial details. Dealership passed on buying it as they knew the buyout was more than what they would pay at the auction, as was evidenced and it was more than superb in condition as we are detailing fanatics (cleaning inside of wheels off the car as an example).

Default Look at what happened to the D2 S8

Even when the D3 was a new model, the D2 S8 dropped like crazy. Granted, it was less to being with, but I firmly believe they will crash big time.

I only wish they made the S8 in the Long wheelbase. I have long legs and often have the kids in the back seat and the L really helps. I would love the look / ride of the S8 but with the room of the W12.

Default I'm thinking the same thing. I found a couple nice ones in the $60k range..

on the Bay Area Craigslist. My kids are getting bigger and it would be nice to have a little more room.

Craigslist
