I havent changed anything through Vag-Com in while. The other day while my wife was driving away she put the blinker on but it did not blink while she was on the brakes. When she let up off the brakes it blinks. The blinker works normal while pressing the brakes(not like the older cars when a light is out the blinker blinks faster). I hooked up Vag and couldnt find nothing. I even changed the ROW settings back to USA to see if there was a change but nothing happened.
Any ideas on what happened?

The brake lights work on both sides BUT when the blinker is on(either side), it do not show which side is blinking while braking in the rear. Its like the brake(while braking) lights override the blinker lights and they are steady on as if I didnt have my blinker on(only from the rear. The front and side markers blinks normal.)

turn signal should override brakes on the given signaling side. Haven't run into it. Sounds like faulty control circuitry if no better info from VAG COM. Don't know if that is in the light assembly or in some other relay/control unit. Bentley might help if others don't know the issue.

check if moisture in the taillight assemblies.
possible somebody solder the circuit boards on them as other members stated before.

Thats what I thought for a minute. The thing is they have been working fine for the 4 1/2 years I had the car. I have a appt at the dealer today for camshaft timing(bank 2) MIL. Replaced sensor but it didnt fix the problem. Anyways, I might get them to check it out if they're not going to charge me another leg.Lol Will update later.
