Rebuild master tech
Does anyone have any experience with this company? They rebuild the air shocks for $650.

I used them for a rebuilt Wabco compressor. They list it for the Mercedes but they fit the A8 if the electrical connectors are swapped. No issues so far. I have no experience with their air struts, but they actually answer the phone for questions.

I would have it rebuilt somewhere else. They don't stand by their products. They are aware that their parts don't last as long as even half of oem parts last. Just find someone else.

Covered in prior posts over some years if you search. Usual suspects are RMT and Arnott for rebuilds. If someone else's core return or something they salvaged somewhere, always a crap shoot what was wrong with it and did they fix it. Not sure anyone still rebuilds one you send in, but then car is down a fair while.
Since starting point is probably someone else's fried one or who knows what core anyway, last one for me was from a junkyard. I just bought combo of latest model year, lowest miles, fair price and right to return if no good. So far so good, and it was maybe half or ⅔'s of rebuilt price.

I think it's hit or miss for both RMT and Arnott. I went with Arnotts because my parts vendor carries them and I can warranty one out easily if needed. I had to have one replaced under warranty so far. I have seen a pretty fair rate of bad ones from RMT here on the boards though.

Good luck here
Currently have two RMT rebuilds on the front of the A8. One is maybe 3 years old, the other is two. They stay up and the car sometimes is not driven for a month.

I rebuild them myself. I take them off the cars every 3 years to service the dryer anyways. That way I replace bearings, pistons, cylinder head, dryer media as needed. I used to have a air compressor shop so it's all the same only tiny

I replaced my compressor and valve block with replacements bought from RMT in 2016. No issues since. Replaced my front passenger side strut with one of their rebuilds in 2019. No problems with that either, though there's plenty of people who have not had such good luck.
