Default Recent end of lease experiences

My 36 month lease on our '06 D3 is up in less than 2 month. My lease was written with an "exclusive" purchase price (residual) of 57%!! (Ah the good old days).
Obviously this car is not worth this today and the recent Manheim prices indicate a current price of about $10k below this or 42% to 45% of cap cost and going down quickly.

Has anybody recently been able to purchase their car at the end of the lease for the "going sale price"?

I had an '05 A8L lease -- 36 months, 36k miles -- that was turned in a couple of months back. The residual was $45k ($77k MSRP). I turned it in, it was CPO'd for $40k, and offered to me for $38k. I wanted to pay around $35k without the CPO, but it was gone in a week.

So yes, Audi Finance is very aware of the residual problem and they are dealing.

Thank. Did you deal with Audi Finacial Services or the dealership?

Default About a year ago,

...Audi Financial made me an offer I couldn't refuse on my '05 A8: A debit/Mastercard with $6000 deposited into it by Audi. The residual on the lease was $32,500, so I ostensibly bought the car for $26,500 back at a time when Mannheim auction prices were still at $30K+. No CPO, though, although that was an alternative to the $6000 Mastercard Audi Financial offered.

I simply played out the end of lease scenario. I turned it in at my dealer (Audi of Bernardsville) and told them I would perhaps be interested in puchasing the car -- just let me know If they would be buying it or where it was going. I believe they called me that day to tell me that they would be selling the car as a CPO. That tells me that Audi Finance sucked it up and let the dealer have it for WAY less than the residual.

Default Check with your dealer...AFS is offering some pretty agressive buy out numbers

To dealer as part of a program called Keep It Audi... You shoould be able to get the car as a CPO for less than your residual...
