And the reason for that bypassing? Some guys word that he can't support? Guy who quoted $3600 for two modules that frayed each other?

mishar, I want to see if the mmi will work if the navigation is bypassed. If it works, doesn't that mean the problem is within the navigation module and not the controller?

But there are quite a few modules that can be bad and most of them is not that easy to access. MOST bus can be broken too. That's why scan is the first thing to be done.

based on the information we have it would be the first thing to do.
once that unit is bypassed we can see if the head unit is bad or not.
not having the right equipment at hand can be dificult, but you can bypass the Nav unit by separating the fiber optic housing and inserting the optic strand in a small piece of hose until both ends touch, that will give you continuity in the loop.
seen at least 50 optic related problems and never seen it actually break.

I would agree with you if I can thrust that guy. But I can't. If OP was just a bit less careful he would already be short for $3600 plus taxis. I tend not to thrust people trying to rip off somebody, frying modules over a fiber optic link.

and yet, how would you proceed once you scan the system?

That depends on what is in that scan. That's why it has to come first.
