Bringing this one back--not a good Blau follow up either

I like Blau, but that's unacceptable. Seems like a pattern, not a one off. They should discontinue the serp. belts if they can't do better in general.

After reading this it reminded me of a situation with my 2000 Subaru Outback. I was planning for a roadtrip when I received a recall to fix something with emissions. So I took it to the dealer. While it was there I said, give her a look over and change the serpentine and fuel filter. So, I picked it up later, jobs complete.
That night my dad needed to borrow my car for errands, because his Nissan pick up clutch slave cylinder was leaking. I get a call that night that he needed a tow and my car is at his house.
So next morning I get dropped off and see him under the hood. He says, "Something happened to the belt." Sure enough was shredded. As I always keep the old one as a spare, we ended up putting it ouselves. Noticing the old belt was ribbed and the pulleys were ribbed didn't explain why the dealer installed the gatorback style (squares) which walked off the pulleys in less than 20 km driving distance.
After much wrangling (the mechanic said they were out of stock and insisted this belt was acceptable) I got the proper belt installed and the tow covered.
