S8 Brake Pulsing whe braking hard from over 60 MPH
I guess I just got a lemon S8 -lol - First the oils issue and now after a 1,200 mile trip, my brakes (can't tell if they are the front, rear or all grab and there is a definate pulsing to them like a rotor issue or something. Didn't notice it until on the return trip? Does anybody have the same issue and any suggestions on the cause or fix? The dealer can't get me in for a week!I love everything else about the car.Fingers crossed!
Thanks so much!

a little information is a dangerous thing
jsdkms will probably make his problem worse unless he modifies your instructions like so:
warm them up first
several hard stops from 60-10, not 60-0
followed by a 10 minute cooling period -while cruising, NOT stopped

here's a full explanation

I doubt it will work, honestly
Audis are notorious for having rotor problems where the brake pads form a low spot on the rotor in just one spot. This is especially prevalent on the rear brakes.
I just had this discussion yesterday with my Service Manager. Bedding the brakes in *after* getting new rotos will help some, but my guess is, you're gonna get new rotors from your trip to the dealer.
What process did you use to bed your brakes in when you bought the car? did you follow the break-in rules?

Re: I doubt it will work, honestly
Scott, You are correct. Even though I could not get an appointment until next week, I had the service Mgr. and the Tech drive the car and they said that the front rotors were warped after only 2,500 miles! Of course, they have to come from Germany and the most amazing thing is that there are 3 versions for the '07 S8 - Go figure - maybe there is an inherent problem with the rotors on the S8'S?

Re: I doubt it will work, honestly
OK, I am supposed to have the front rotors replaced on Tuesday and will let everyone know the outcome. My main concern is how did they warp after only 2,500 miles????
