Default So I drove from Queens NY to Moonachie NJ over the weekend and..

....on the way home, after going through the Lincoln Tunnel, the NAV system was "off" by a hundred yards of so. I was on 36th street, and the "woman" kept telling me to get off 35th street.

When I went through the Midtown Tunnel to Queens, it was very interesting to see a car icon on the screen in the water next to the tunnel!!!!!

Everything is fine now, but I think the underwater experience (Lincoln Tunnel) must have waterlogged her brain!

Default When that happens click on nav info and see how many satellites are hitting..

your car. The tri-angulation normally figures itself out after a while.

You turn the mmi **** and it lets you read your elevation, lat & long, no of sats, etc.

Default I'll give it a shot if it happens again, but...

I drove for more than 20 minutes without it "self-correcting". I shut it off, and when I turned it back on just before I got home, it was okay. Just because, I did a warm boot of the system anyway.

Default The reason I posted what I did was because it happened to me about a year ago after drving through..

the tunnel under Mobile Bay, but I can't remember if I did something outwardly with the MMI to make "it get back on the road" or if it corrected it itself....and I didn't really know about the satellite qanity display until after that episode.

Default If you really want to **** your nav system off take a ferry boat with your car one day...

I did that and it had no clue what was going on for the first minute after driving on land again.

I watched the nav system receive data from the satellites but my position never changed on the screen while on the boat. I think it uses wheel sensors to help decide your position. I mean when was the last time you moved your car several miles without driving it while sitting in it? I was expecting it show me over a body of water and the arrow never moved until i drove a few miles on the other side.
