I was chatting with the parts manager at my dealer during lunch and was planning on getting a cradle and modifying it to fit my V600. I really didnt care about the integration, just wanted the charging ability and that it stays in one place. He told me that a customer had already done that (with extreme work however) and that to his and the customers surprise, the car recognizes the phone (Voice dial, mute etc.) Im hoping that in europe they will introduce addtional cradles (if they have not already). This could be a major help for those of us who have 04's and dont care for the V60 and or have GSM phones.

You can get a V600 hands free phone system just like my V60 phone system.....

Then just hook it up to switched, unswitched and ground....you could use the speaker provided unless the D3 has a B pillar speaker which would be easy to tap into....

Use the mic provided with the kit....

And see if you can find a mute wire on the radio, it just grounds that connection....and it mutes the radio.

Very, very easy to do. If you need more details, just post....but it's easy.

just mill out a V60 cradle or purchase one for the V600 from Cullman (OEM supplier for auto manufacturers) and pop it in the OEM mounting plate?

There is a ton of ways to skin the cat...agreed...but we should really figure out a way to integrate a hands free phone system that uses an external antenna (for signal strength) and a cradle so you can charge the phone....

Plus use the radio mute, and B pillar speaker for neat look....

If we could get it to talk to the MMI, that would be even better.

In the UK, what kind of phone talks to the D3 to put it up on the dash???

Everyone complains because of the lack of integration with the MMI. Instead of providing us with phone capabilities, AoA gives us onstar. This is probably the reason that '04 owners wont be able to retrofit BT.
