Default Speed warning adjustment

Hello everyone,

Since I bought the car I've tried several times to adjust the speed warning or turning it on/off on MMI, but it's the same. It goes off at 130kph (making this scary sound like there is a fault!).

I read on other forums that there is 2 speed warnings and also holding (check) button on dash panel will switch it off. I'm not sure if this applies to D3's also.

Can someone please advice me on this. Thanks.

I appreciate all of your inputs.
It's not your English. It's my memory.

As far as I remember one of those is not that easy to change (but possible). It is to be used if you have speed limited tires (studded winters). The other is easy adjustable by buttons on the wiper stalk. My car and owners manual are far away but somebody who has it handy will kick in.

Thanks, Mishar.

Since you mentioned that, I went back to read the manual (again) as I clearly missed that part!

It basically says that..

Speed Warning 1 is temporarily set with "check" button pressed when driving at desired speed. It's also cleared when switching ignition off or by pressing "check" button briefly.

Speed warning 2 is stored permenantly and is controlled by MMI.

I'm assuming my issue is with speed warning 2, but it's switched off in the MMI!

I'm more confused now..umm.

I tried it few times and never used it again. Not useful at all, in my opinion.

haha.. I agree. But, you've got to have a way to disable speed warning 2 since it's an option. I'm wondering if it's made permenant in here.

I always have speed warning 2 set at 150 km/h.

In Ontario, 50 km's or over will get you a vehicle seizure and temporary loss of license. They consider it a crime.
It's too easy to bring the car up to 150 km when passing another vehicle and that speed warning sound really brings attention to that fact. I'm a fan.
