Is there anything there , other than the starter jammed code, that you think might have a bearing on no start symptoms?

Ive got a feeling the starter has failed.

You should first check if the starter is getting power. If not than it is starter relay.

Thanks Mishar. I appreciate it all. It's gone to my indie for "standard automotive diagnosive techniques" I.e a piece of wire and a bulb. See if that starter is getting juice. Many thanks again. J

But I think they are #2, and #3..... in the passenger (if you live in the US) foot well.

I'm going with defective starter. Mine in my '04 D3 lasted nine or ten calender years from the date the car was built.
