Hi.
I just recently figured out that i "needed" a new-ish car so i bought a 2003 A8 4.0 tdi which worked fine the first week but now there are some strange and scary noises coming from the left side of the dashboard, approx in the area of the light switch if i had to guess by the sounds.
When i turn on the ignition i get a sound that sounds like its "testing" the system. file: Tale00003
When i am driving, there are some crazy sounds that come and go.. mostly gone but it can sound like the two other sound files and go on for quite a while.
The other two files, Tale00001 & Tale00002 are when i am driving. It might suddenly start making these noises.
I get no warning lights etc in the dash..
After reading and doing some testing, i figured out i have errors with "Alarm Horn" and maybe with the Battery Regulator.
The last is hard to tell cause the battery have been low the last few days.
Code for Alarm Horn.

Hope anyone can help me sort this out as this is my first try as an Audi owner, and it would be a shame to not be a Audi owner soon

All three sound like a radar detector, you probably have a built in unit with controls somewhere on the dash, console, or ashtray.

Alarm horns a common failure on Audi's and just need replacing new not second hand as the internal battery leaks when they get old.
The flat battery is likely to be a drain caused by the faulty alarm horn.
The beeping sounds like a radar detector as mentioned already

I cant see any radar detector anywhere though. Will have to take a thorough look.
But the strange thing is that i didnt hear this noise the first week.

does anybody know the parts nr for the alarm horn? my uneducated guess would be nr: 4E0 907 289 / 4E0 910 289 A
similar to this: Audi A8 S8 4E Central Control Unit Comfort System 4E0 907 289 4E0 910 289 A | eBay
