Strange happenings in the world of Keyless-go

so, maybe I did something wrong- I'm not discounting that possibility here.
This morning I headed out to the a8 to go to work, loaded my bag in the back seat, as normal- no problems. I leave my car unlocked in my garage, so the doors were unlocked as I reached for them. After loading my bag in the back, I closed the rear door- and immediately the car locked (with the electronic beep). I had not depressed the lock button.
I reached for the front door to unlock the car (keyless-go) and the car freaked out. What I mean is this: It unlocked and re-locked rapidly for the next 5 seconds or so, until I hit the unlock button on the remote. Then it stopped, when I reached for the door again- it did the same thing. It was locking and unlocking every half second (approx).
The third attempt to open the car, I unlocked via remote and quickly opened the door, not giving enough time for the locks to cycle back to the locked position.
Got the door open, and everything was like normal, did not continue to try to cycle the locks, even after shutting the door.
Has anyone else seen this? Is this a known issue I need to address before it becomes worse?

I have had something similar happen to me as well. My issue was when the car was locked, came up to the vehicle with the remote in my bag/briefcase and it cycled through lock/unlock. Did it to me after driving and getting out of the vehicle. Happened at multiple locations, mostly at home though. I thought the remote buttons were being depressed inside the bag at first. It didn't really bother me enough to investigate further. Remote battery is recent. My hypothesis is that living in a wireless world, there are only so many channels to use and sometimes interference screws thing up. My battery is also newer (installed by dealer in 2013).

My only experience with unusual locking is if the key is in my pocket or wherever and something is pushing on the buttons. Happens constantly on the more sensitive Q5 remote, and once in a while on the A8. Can even happen with key in pocket and I lean over the bodywork to wash the center of the hood or something like that.

I am glad a few others have at least seen or experienced this as well, also quite relieved to see it hasn't been an on going issue for you Ross.
It wasn't pocket pressure, or keys hitting the buttons, because the fob was in my hand the second time it did the cycling. Just a weird occurrence. Oh well, no biggie I guess.
Loving this thing more and more every day I drive it.
