for this supposed great work. No fix but an owners manual page, plus some fine print suggesting to me there were a few private pay off deals maybe cut. And a chance to do some one off repairs at your hassle and then get it reimbursed. Come on, an owners manual and service procedure tweak? Meanwhile, owning a C5 with the HVAC filter right under the plastic cowl shield waiting for water to come in at the lower windshield edge if that cowl cover isn't on right (or the cowl drains clog) and with the tranny ECU under the front floor carpet, it is a disaster waiting to happen. Been documented probably 100 times on the C5 board, which I haven't even read much in years now (since AW screwed up the user interface with the software change).
As a lawyer, this actually strikes me as a bunch more public disservice where Audi on the on hand didn't really fix any true problems--nor did they seem to even acknowledge the idiotic design error on at least the C5--and on the other where some handful of lawyers worked the system and will pocket $30 mil. Millions, not thousands. And if Audi had spent that on better customer service and after sale support, we would all be much better off.
Thus I regard this all as a lose lose other than to a few lawyers who pulled off yet another one. Not what my profession needs.

FWIW, my dealer charged $63.00 (1/2 hour time) for the inspection.
He also charged a full hour's time to change a parking lamp bulb. Said he had to remove the bumper for access.
