Default Swapping Bose Amp

Hi Everyone,

My Bose Amp is faulty 4E0 035 223F and I was able to salvage another Bose Amp 4E0 035 223G. Will this amp work without any issues? What will happen if I use the salvaged amp?

Thanks in advance for any advice or direction.

I think amps have component protection on them but you could get lucky

Well, that sounds like an updated version of the amp, if you have the stock software version of the mmi, it might not work due to having incompatible software on the amp.

Certain Audi dealerships will remove component protection if the module isn't reported as stolen. If it does happen to be stolen, you lose the cost of the amp, and cost of coding. Or you can look into one of our forum members who have access to remove component protection, there is a post somewhere out him/her.

I swapped out amps but my MMI module was the culprit so put the old one back in. No information other than it's a bit of pain and

what is that aluminum shield for above the amps - looks like a water /drip shield or could be for interference who knows.

Jack88, thank you for the information. How can I tell what MMI software I have?

will anything catastrophic occur if I swap the amps and find out they have CP? If CP does engage, can the amp still be used?

thank you in advance!!!

CP came up as a fault code on my MMI, then muted sound. Everything else worked.

In fact CP was only activated after I started the car, I had sound before I turned the key to fire the engine up.
