Time to jump ship, or at least move to another part of it
It appears as though I am going to move into a D4 A8L (the 2015 facelift makes the exterior tolerable, but the interior is to die for). I will always have a soft spot for the D3 cars.
I just wanted to say good bye to all and thanks to all. The D3 A8/S8 forum is with out a doubt one of the best I have ever been a part of. The knowledge share as well as the civility and politeness here is unsurpassed. Too many of these forums are filled with opinionated keyboard jockeys that ruin it for many. This one does not.
If you are looking for a well cared for post facelift D3 S8 with just under 44k miles on it, Audi of Fort Myers should have one next week.....
cheers boys!

Good luck. See you again
Good luck w/ D4. Agreed post facelift it has smoothed out some of the style hiccups. Plus the various engine performance and economy tweaks make several choices all the better.
I might join you at some point, though it may be a few years since my "search" criteria are pretty much 2015+ and "used." May well just catch up on the D5 though.

Geneva and new R8 are now only two weeks away...
and Audi is leaking info. to seed the marketing. R8 owners are wishfully thinking the used market isn't going to head south, even with thousands out there and the dynamics of new car markets. Well poised for a good slide as they hit the trade in button on newer ones or other choices. Watching and waiting on the sidelines.

Facelift D4 lost some of that angry face and looks more like D3. Nice and smooth.
As for R8 ideas I can smell some midlife crises here.
I think I will keep my D3 forever. My plan is to drive it just ocasionaly, so to reach Mister Bally's millage it will take forever. In the meantime:
Girls not included. I have my own crew.

To each their own on the boats. I personally prefer 90,000 tons or greater with either Royal Caribbean or Carnival logos on them. As for the "girls not included" line; they are available, at a significant upcharge.
Have not been on one (a cruise ship, that is) in eight or nine years. Now that the kids are sort of on their own (still on the payroll) I see a cruise in the near future.
My D3 was the mid-life crisis car for me. An R8 will be the exotic engineering toy I've wanted for awhile.
My D3 will have to get me into 2022 to match how old my '87 5000CSq was when I donated to a charity motor organization.
The bigger question is what will my daily driver be at that point?

I might not be moving so quick. Took the car for 'extended test drive' this am so wife could drive and verification that it fits in garage. When I was at the dealer a few days ago the CEL was on and they attributed it to the gas cap being loose.
Cleared the code this AM and i took the car. While my wife was driving it came back.
Out with the handy dandy VCDS and it was no loose gas cap.
I am optimistic that they filled it up with low octane gas.....
Not the best way to start out a relationship with a new car, but i haven't signed anything as of yet.
What was amazing to me is it took about 2 times the amount of time to complete the scan as a scan on my S8.
