Hello,
was wondering if anyone knew how to get a hold of some silver touch of paint for my 05 A8. I have some rub marks from another car on the bumper and would like to remove them inexpensively. Using the normal scratch repair wouldn't work because their a bit larger rub marks.
Thanks for your help!

You can get touch up paint from the dealer (painfully) or via on line places with your color code. But, my experience is univerally it looks blotchy, even really carefully applied. The fingernail polish type brush works better for me than the felt tip like applicators (harder to control exact amount of paint), but neither are ideal. If it is under the bumber and I just want good coverage, then fine of course.
And, not sure from your response if you have tried Dr. ColorChip (on line available). That cleans up everything short of a pretty broad cut type scratch for me, sometimes after a few applications, and removes like 95% of the little rock chip type road rash.
If it isn't through the paint itself, I would definitely try polishing compound (or rubbing compound if even worse) if you think it may be just a scuff. Often that can take off a lot of things (followed by waxing) one things are not going to buff out.

Even the dealer cannot offer some colors as touch up (the pearlescent colors). I bought my beige pearl paint from paintscratch.com in Incline Village, Nevada.
The fine tipped touch up applicators from Griot's Garage work great for me.
Once the car is a year old, I've learned to accept scratches, nicks etc. I buy my cars to drive and enjoy. I don't display them in the Concours. But I do clay, polis and wax them from time to time.
